NBA fantasy basketball roundup--April 3, 2009
What might have been--Gilbert Arenas works against Mo Williams as the Wiz win.
Through the looking glass--Cavs lose to the Wizards in DeeCee...the Wiz had what they thought would be their starting lineup in place for the first time this season, and derailed the Cleveland title train, at least for one night...Six Washingtonians reached double figures, led by
Caron Butler with 25,
Call Me Antoine with 19 and 5, and reserve
Darius Songaila with 17 and 6...
Brendan Haywood started and delivered 12 and 10, and
Gilbert Arenas contributed 11, 6 and 10...
Nick Young scored 10, and
Dominic McGuire pulled down 10 rebounds...
LeBron's day at the office included 31, 9 and 6 with 6 turnovers,
Mo Money brought 19, 6 and 5, and
Delonte West had 14 and 7 assists...
Andy Varejao delivered 10 and 7, and the
Z-Man blocked 4 shots...Cleveland hit 11 treys and made 12-of-17 free throws, while the Wiz went 1-for-10 from the stripe but compensated by hitting 26-of-30 freebies...
the Cavs have to be one of the teams happy not to have to face Washington in the playoffs this year.
Iggy gets past Charlie Villanueva as the Sixers punk the Bucks.
Sixers come back on Bucks in Philly...
Iggy led Philadelphia with 20 points, and
Sweet Lou came off the bench for 21, 14 of which came in the second half...
Andre Miller notched 18, 5 and 11,
Call Me Maurice had 14 and 6, and starter
Reggie Evans finished with 13 and 7...six Bucks reached double figures, with none of them managing 20 points...
Suddenly Sessions delivered 18, 5 and 10,
Underachiever scored 17, and
ol' Charlie Bell had 14...
Occasionally and
Luke Ridnour each scored 11, and
Dan Gadzuric showed up again with 10 and 6...Philly won the battle of the boards 44-28 and outscored the Bucks at the stripe 32-21...
Thaddeus Young will be out at least until the playoffs start, effectively killing any chance I had to advance my fantasy team in the final standings...oh well.
Mr. Big Shot drives on Deron Williams as the Nuggest whip the Jazz.
Nuggets hump Jazz in Denver...Denver gets 54 points from its bench and leaves Utah in the dust...reserve
J.R. Smith went OFF and led the Nuggets with 28 and 7 assists, including 8 from long distance,
Melo went for 23 and 9, and
Mr. Big Shot finished with 17 and 8...
Nene scored 13, and
Anthony Carter had a week with 12...Utah had six players in double figures, just like the Bucks, with none of them getting to 20...
C.J. Miles led with 19 and zip,
Deron Williams had 18, 5 and 10,
Carlos Boozer delivered 15 and 11,
Mehmet Okur had 14 and 15,
Paul Millsap brought 14 and 12, and
Ronnie Brewer scored 10...if the playoffs started today, these teams would face each other in the first round...
with Denver holding the home court advantage, my money would go on the Nuggets...if I were a betting man, that is.
