Heavy NBA schedule last night. See Part II of my rant here.

Raptors shock Magic in Orlando...OK, it's official now--Dwight Howard has a real problem at the free throw line...he was 10-for-21 in this one, and his team lost by four points...Chris Bosh led Toronto with 24 and 12, Jose Calderon delivered 21 and 8 assists, and The Player Formerly Known As The Matrix had a Matrix-like 17, 15 and 6...Don't Call Me Andrea scored 16 before fouling out...Howard went for 30 and 9 to lead Orlando, Hedo contributed 19, 5 and 6, and Rashard finished with 18 and 8...Rafer Alston scored 12 points, but the bench could only account for 10...the Magic were 7-for-26 from the arc and 26-for-41 from the stripe...they get my vote as the Team Most Likely to Get Upset in the First Round.
Celtics hold off Bobcats in 2 OT in Beantown...whew--THAT was close!...Paul Pierce led the four Celtics who scored more than five points with 32 and 6, and RayRay hit five treys, including the tying shot in regulation and the game-winner in the second OT, on his way to 22...Rondo came through with 21 and 9 assists, and Eddie House went 4-for-7 from lalaland to finish with 18...seven Bobcats reached double figures, as follows: Gerald Wallace 20 and 10; Boris Diaw 17, 7 and 8; Raymond Felton 14 and 12 dimes; D.J. Augustin 14 and zip; Emeka Okafor 12 and 10, and Raja Bell 12 points and 5 assists...the Celtics were 18-of-26 from the stripe, while Charlotte went 5-for-7...there's that ugly NBA home court advantage at work again...there will be some tired legs today, as Charlotte had five players with at least 37 minutes, and Boston had six with at least 32.
Nets grind Pistons in Joisey...Keyon Dooling, starting in place of the always ineffective Trenton Hassell, led six Nets in double figures with 23 points, and Devin Harris had his best game in weeks with 19 points, 11 assists and 4 steals...The Good Twin delivered 19 and7, R Ryan Anderson went for 14 and 5, Vince Carter had 12, 7 and 7, and Josh Boone--yes, Josh Boone--finished with 10 and 7...the Pistons are a piece of work--Rip Hamilton went for 29 and 6 assists, while Antonio McDyess, personally screwing up my fantasy team, went 1-for-6 for 2 points and 7 boards in 27 unproductive minutes...Rodney Stuckey had a good outing, finishing with 16, 7 and 6, but Kwame had a donut in 17 starting minutes...Tayshaun scored 16, but Bad Chemistry went 1-for-8 for 4 points and 4 assists in 17 minutes and complained after the game that Detroit has bad chemistry...???...finally, Rasheed sat this one out, nursing his 16th technical of the season...can you spell "impulse control?"...for a team fighting to stay in the playoffs, Detroit seems to have a whole bunch of different agendas at work.
Resistible force fails to budge moveable object, as Wizards fall to Grizzlies in Memphis...five Grizzlies reached double figures, led by Rudy Gay with 25 and 6, and the improving Mike Conley delivered 22, 5 and 6...Little Brother went for 18 and 9 before fouling out, and O.J. Mayo finished with 18 and 7 assists, going 7-for-20 in the process...Hakim Warrick came off the bench for 12 and 5...Don't Call Me Darryl started and had 2 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 personals in 15 numbing minutes...Caron Butler (31 points) and Call Me Antoine (28 and 10) led Washington, as usual...reserve Nick Young scored 16, Javaris Crittenton started again and delivered 13 and 11, and Andray Blatche finished with 11 and 9...Brendan Haywood played for the first time in months and had 2 points on 1-for-6 shooting, showing signs of a little rust.
Lakers escape Bucks in Beertown...it was the usual suspects for the Lakers, as Kobe led with 30 and 8, Lamar Odom notched 20 and 10, and Big Brother delivered 15 and 6...Trevor Ariza had 12, and Sasha came off the bench for 14 points, going 3-for-3 from the floor...Los Angeles won despite violating the Deviant Hoops Theorem, badly, with 15 assists and 20 turnovers...Richard Jefferson scored 29, and Suddenly Sessions had a triple with 16, 10 and 16 for the Bucks, who played about as well as they can and still lost...Occasionally went 6-for-20 on his way to 13 and 7, and big Dan Gadzuric started in the pivot and delivered 14 and 5 before fouling out...the home court advantage was out of order in this one, as the Lakers went 31-for-36 from the stripe while the Bucks were held to 7-of-9...Luke Ridnour had a donut in 13 minutes...Sessions had more assists than the Lakers team.
