LeBron & Tayshaun; Danny Granger & Kirk Hinrich; Gerald Wallace & Lamar Odom

Heavy NBA schedule last night.  See Part II of my daily rant right here.

Cavs grind Pistons in Cleveland...79-73 won't win any aesthetic awards, other than notching 13 W's in a row and 16 in the month of March...LeBron managed 25 points, 12 boards and 3 steals, Delonte West had 12 and 6 assists, and Andy Varejao and Mo Money each scored 11...Detroit celebrated the return of Rasheed and Bad Chemistry by shooting 35% from the floor, going 4-for-15 from the arc, missing a third of their free throws and violating my Deviant Hoops Theorem with nine (9!) assists and 15 turnovers...Rip Hamilton led with 13 and 6, going 4-for-14, and Iverson added 11 in 18 minutes off the bench...the four Pistons starters other than Hamilton scored 26 points by shooting 12-for-40...Iverson was running his mouth after the game...on the bright side, Rasheed drew his 16th technical and an automatic one game suspension, both of which he had received earlier in the year and which had been previously over-ruled...not this time.

Pacers come back to pin Gut-Wrenching Loss on Bulls in Indy...Danny Granger led six Pacers in double figures with 31, and reserve T.J. Ford (22 and 9 assists) hit the game-winner with four seconds left to cut the Bulls' lead over Indy for the eighth spot to 3 1/2 games...Troy Murphy returned from injury with 15 and 12, Brandon Rush had 11, and Jarrett Jack and Josh McRoberts each scored 10...Derrick Rose led the Bulls with 24, 11 and 6, Kirk Hinrich started and delivered 20, 7 and 7, and Tyrus Thomas managed 20 points and little else...Brad Miller had 14, 5 and 8 off the bench, but Ben Gordon suffered through a 5-for-18 night and finished with 12 points...Tim Thomas notched 11 and 5...unlike the Nets and Knicks, you have to admire the Pacers for not quitting, even though the playoffs are largely a mirage...they're still giving the fans their money's worth.

Bobcats continue domination of Lakers in Charlotte...that's six out of seven in the last two seasons, and a sweep this year...ridiculous...D.J. Augustin (14 and 5) joined all five Charlotte starters in double figures, led by Gerald Wallace with 21 and 13...Ray Felton had 16 and 5 dimes, Emeka Okafor added 13 and 9, Boris Diaw went for 11 and 12, and Raja Bell scored 10 while putting a defensive clamp on Kobe...Kobe did finish with 25 points and 3 steals, but it took him 28 shots to get there...Lamar Odom delivered 20 and 9 before fouling out, and Big Brother managed 16, 11 and 7...Luke Walton had six points and 3 of his shots recycled...the Bobcats won this one at the stripe, going 17-for-22 while the Lakers, busy hoisting up jump shots, went 4-for-6...I'm looking for an analogy to put this rivalry in perspective..it's like Florida Presbyterian beating Florida in football again and again, just wacky....if nothing else, Larry Brown can beat the Lakers.

Josh Smith, Reggie Evans and Willie Green; Josh Howard & Mike Miller

Sixers work Hawks in Philly...before I get started--Thaddeus Young had played every game for the Sixers this season, and I put him on my fantasy roster Sunday. He left in the first quarter with an ankle and may miss the rest of the regular season. I have a problem with this...four Sixers reached double figures, including Iggy with 19 and 8 assists, Andre Miller with 18 and 10 assists, Willie Green with 15 and reserve Marreese "Call Me Maurice" Speights with 16 in relief of Young...Josh Smith went OFF with 33 for Atlanta, Flip Murray contributed 19, 5 and 6, and Joe Johnson finished with 11 and 7 assists...the Hawks hit all 21 of the free throws but violated my Deviant Hoops Theorem with 17 and 19...Philly kept it close by going 2-for-12 from the arc...if Atlanta is going to spend any time in the playoffs, they need to get Marvin Williams back.

Mavs abuse Wolves in Minneapolis...the four amigos had it going on for Dallas, with Dirk notching 23 and 12, Jason Terry coming off the bench for 21 and zip, Josh Howard returning for the first time in a month and contributing 14 and 6, and Jason Kidd dishing 13 assists...of course, it's pretty easy to look good when you're playing the Wolves...James Singleton delivered 11 and 7, and Antoine Wright finished with 10...Kevin Love led Minnesota with 23 and 12--wish I had him on my fantasy roster--followed by Mike Miller with 15, 8 and 6, Ryan Gomes with 15, and Circus Carney with 14 and 9...I wonder how Sebastian Telfair feels having 50-year old Kevin Ollie starting ahead of him at the point....Ollie averages four points and two assists per game.
