Call it a comeback--Hawks win second half to overtake Bobcats...trailing 55-43 at the break, Atlanta wins second half 59-42, led by Marvin Williams' 29 and 7...Maurice Evans, starting for the ill Joe Johnson, scored 17, Mike Bibby went for 15, 4 and 4, and Essence of Pachulia and Flip Murray reached double figures in an unlikely road win for the Hawks...Atlanta went 10-for-18 from the arc, which helped, as they were out-rebounded and out-assisted...Raja Bell led five Bobcats in double figures with 17, 6 and 4, but left the game in the third quarter with a groin...Diaw scored 16, Okafor had a large 15 and 19 doubler, and Raymond Felton went for 15, 8 and 8...10-dayer Cartier Martin had 11 points and 5 personals for the 'Cats off the bench...Adam Morrison's struggles continue, as he managed 4 points and 4 personals in 18 starting minutes...Williams was 18-of-20 from the stripe, which had Larry Brown going after the game, as Atlanta took 39 free throws...there was a Sean May sighting, although he didn't get in the game.  Still too fat for Coach Larry.

Pacers shock Magic in Indy...six Pacers reached double figures as Indy avoids another gut-wrenching loss at home...Danny Granger, playing through an injured knee, led the way with 33, 5 and 5, going 12-for-12 from the line...T.J. Ford added 21 points and 5 assists, and Troy Murphy contributed 20 and 8, missing his usual doubler...Dunleavy managed 11 points on 10 shots, Jarrett Jack started and had 10 points and 8 boards, and R Roy Hibbert came off the bench for 10 points and 6 personals in 16 minutes...Superman led Orlando with 21 and 20...wow...but missed 7-of-12 free throws, which hurt the Magic...Hedo went for 20, 6 and 11, Rashard scored 16, and J.J. "You Remember, The Guy From Duke" Reddick came from the very end of the bench for 17, 4 and 2 in 25 productive minutes...sensing that Anthony Johnson will not suffice now that Little Big Man is lost for the season, Orlando picked up Tyronn Lue from the Bucks...Mickael Pietrus is now fully back to earth, going 1-for-6 from the floor for 3 points in 30 gruesome minutes...I really didn't think he was the answer when he went OFF on his first night back...both teams were 35-for-80 from the floor, a rare but meaningless statistic.
Celtics ride Knicks in the fourth for the win at MSG...New York runs out of gas playing their third tough game in a week...it was the Usual Suspects for Boston, featuring Paul Pierce (26 and 4), RayRay(22, 3 and 6), KG (15 and 11) and Rondo (12, 10 and 7)...workhorse Leon Powe came off the bench for 13 and 7, and Kendrick Perkins exploded for 9 points and 7 boards in a game the Celtics snoozed through for three quarters...the Knicks were led bySelfless Al, who scored 27 points on 26 shots, and my boy Lunchbucket with 18 and 18...Chris Duhon added 15 points and 7 assists, and Nate Robinson came off the bench for 13 points on 4-for-12 shooting...Jared Jeffries had 6 rebounds and a free throw...Boston was 23-for-30 from the stripe, while the Knicks went 12-for-18...how does a little guy like Rondo collect 10 rebounds?...effort, that's how.
Clippers win a basketball game, spank Grizzlies in Memphis...Los Angeles went 16-for-29 from the arc in a rout...Here Comes Trouble led the way with 35 and 10, and gunner Ricky Davis hit 6-of-10 from lalaland for 24 points...Eric Gordon added 23, Baron Davis had 10 and 8, and Camby scored 7 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in a game the Clips led by 19 at the break...Al Thornton hurt my fantasy team with a 9 and 5 effort...Rudy Gay led Memphis with 26 and 5, and Mike Conley scored 18 points, but managed only 3 assists against 3 turnovers...O.J. Mayo went 3-for-9 for 10 points, and Greg Buckner added 13 off the bench...Little Brother had a brutal night, with 3 points and 5 boards in 27 minutes...Darko asserted himself, with 3 personals in the first 4 minutes...gotta love this guy...Memphis managed 11 assists for the game, while the Clips piled up 24...Eric Gordon has been forced to grow up quickly, and I expect the Clippers to do far better after the All-Star break then they've done up until now. Their starting lineup is better than average, and will improve once Chris Kaman returns.
Hornets come back hard in fourth to beat Raptors...it was raining threes as New Orleans made a 17-0 run in the fourth for the win...when ya hot ya hot...Peja led the Hornets with 28, going 7-for-11 from long distance...New Orleans' "17 Point Club" included West with 10 boards and 6 dimes, Casual Rasual with 8 boards and 5 assists, and James Posey, with 5 rebounds and 4-of-8 shooting from the arc...Chris Bosh missed the game for Toronto with a knee...Jermaine led the Raps with 24 and 6, and Don't Call Me Andrea added 19 points...Jose Calderon provided 16 points and 8 assists, and Anthony "Not Tony" Parker had a 12, 5 and 4 night...Jamario Moon came off the bench for 10 and 7, and that was it...Joey Graham started and wandered around for 30 minutes, ending up with 3 points and 3 rebounds, but sweating profusely...Bargnani and O'Neal each had 5 turnovers...good teams, holding the lead on the road, don't give up 17-0 runs.
Thunder jump up early, hold off Blazers in Okieland...Kevin Durant scored 31 points and led five Okies in double figures as Portland trailed 60-40 at the break...NickyNickyNicky went OFF for 21 and 13, and Jeff Green added 20 and 9...Russell Westbrook generated more heat than light, scoring 10 points with 5 assists and 6 turnovers...Earl Watson came off the bench and had a 12 point, 11 assist doubler...starter Kyle Weaver just missed a donut in 34 painful minutes, and Chucky Atkins got his in 5 minutes off the bench...Brandon Roy led Portland with 32, 9 and 6, looking like an All-Star, and Travis Outlaw added 20 and 6 of the bench...LaMarcus Aldridge had an 18, 5 and 6 kind of night, and that was pretty much it...starters Batum, Oden and Rodriguez combined for 15 points...Oden had 4 points and 4 personals...when ya not ya not...the Okies attempted only seven treys and shot 50% from the floor, with Collison going 7-for-11 in close. Green was 9-for-18 and Durant 12-for-25...the advertised grudge match between Oden and Durant, drafted first and second last year, failed to materialize.
Nuggets punk Wiz in DeeCee...Denver led by 32 after three periods and called off the dogs...seven Nuggets reached double figures, led by Melo with 23, 8 and 6...Dahntay Jones had a month with 18 and 6, Chauncey contributed 16 points in three quarters, and the Birdmanand Strong, Like Bull had 13 apiece...K-Mart went for 11 and 7, J.R. Smith had 10 points on only 5 shots, and Nene had a relaxing 6 point, 10 rebound evening...you will see a number of Nuggets on Sports Center's Top Ten plays from yesterday...Call Me Antoine led Washington, as usual, with 26, 8 and 5, and Nick Young added 20 points off the bench...after the game, Jamison sounded sick, tired and worn out trying to carry this sorry collection...JaVale McGee had 13 off the bench, and Javaris Crittenton and Mike James scored 10 points each...Denver shot 56% from the floor and 47% from the arc, evidence of Washington's non-existent defense...the Wizards simply weren't in the mood to play basketball.
Jazz avoid abject humiliation, edge Kings in Sacramento...beating the Kings by only 4 points is like losing...Deron Williams had it going on again tonight, scoring 34 points to lead five Jazzercizers in double figures...Okur, excommunicated from my fantasy team, had a 28 and 11 doubler, and Ronnie Brewer added 16 and 6...Kyle Korver scored 11 points and didn't miss a shot all night, and Matt Harpring came off the bench for 14 and 8...Paul Millsap had 8 rebounds in 30 minutes and just missed a donut...Kevin Martin, in yet another Heroic, But Ultimately Futile effort, scored 37 to lead Sacramento...Bobby Jackson had 15, Jason Thompson 14, John Salmons 12, 7 and 7, and Mikki Moore exploded for 12...the Jazz came dangerously close to violating Allen's Deviant Hoops Theorem with 19 assists and 18 turnovers...Brevin Knight had a donut in 14 minutes off the bench for Utah. He did have a booboo on his thumb.
Suns pull away in the fourth to shade Warriors...all five Phoenix starters landed in double figures, led by Grant Hill (?) with 27 and 5 and J Rich (??) with 25 points..."Stat"came up big with 19 and 15, Nash contributed 19 points and 8 assists, and Shaq added 12 and 7 before fouling out...Corey Maggette, making his first significant contribution to my fantasy team in the two weeks he's been on it, led Golden State with 25 and 5, and Captain Jack added 24 points on 21 shots...Jamal Crawford had 17 and 6 assists, Monta Ellis supplied 15 and 9 rebounds, and The Big Euro and Turiaf scored 11 apiece...Biedrins also had 11 boards before leaving with an ankle late in the third...Azubuike had a donut in 15 starting minutes, and Crunch Time just missed one in 12 minutes off the bench...Phoenix attempted just 4 treys, hitting two, both by J Rich...The Warriors did, in fact, violate Allen's Deviant Hoops Theorem with 17 assists and 19 turnovers and, naturally, lost.
