NBA fantasy basketball roundup--February 6, 2009
Sixers ride big third quarter to home win over Pacers...Indiana managed only 13 points in the third to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory...three Sixers recorded double doubles, including Andre Miller (13 and 12 assists), Andre Iguodala (20 points and 11 assists, and Sam Dalbembert, who went off with 18 points and 20 boards...Willie Green scored 23 points, and Thaddeus Young added 14 and 7...Dalembert punished Jeff Foster and Rasho, who combined for 2 points and 5 rebounds, with R Roy Hibbert adding 8 points and 7 boards in relief...Mike Dunleavy led the Pacers with 21 points and little else, while Danny Granger, playing on a leg and a half, scored 18 points but was ineffective after halftime...Jarrett Jack, who recently lost his starting job to T.J. Ford, scored 18 points off the bench...Ford, who is wrecking my fantasy team, went 1-for-6 from the floor for 2 points and 7 assists...Troy Murphy had another 15 and 14 doubler, and that was that...with Brand now gone for the season, owners might want to consider adding Dalembert to their rosters. He was a force tonight.
Lakers pin gut-wrenching OT loss on Celtics in Boston...paybacks are a bitch...
Kobe (26, 10 and 5),
Big Brother (24 and 14) and
Odom (20, 6 and 3) did the heavy lifting as the Lakers won it in overtime...
Derek Fisher added 13 points and 5 assists, but no other Laker scored more than 7 points...
Odom sank two free throws that provided the final margin, and Boston missed twice from the floor as time ran out...
RayRay led the Celtics with 22 points, and
Pierce added 21, 8 and 5...
KG returned with 16 and 6, and
Rondo added 16 points and 12 dimes...
Eddie House went 4-for-6 from the arc on his way to 16 points, and
Leon Powe contributed 10 points and 8 boards in 16 minutes...
Big Baby had one of those nights, going 1-for-8 from the floor for 2 points and 3 rebounds, and fouling Odom for what became the deciding points...Boston led by four after three periods but couldn't close the deal in regulation...
the Lakers bear little resemblance to the team that lost game six of the finals last year in Boston 131-92.
Jazz humble Mavs in SLC...Utah took a 10 points lead into halftime and stretched it to 28 points after three...Deron Williams led the Jazz with 34, 5 and 12, schooling his childhood idol Jason Kidd, who had another of his now-familiar triple singles with 7, 1 and 8...Kyle Korver started and went for 20 and 9 rebounds, and Ronnie Brewer added 17 and 8...Okur had a 16 and 13 doubler, and Paul Millsap provided 14 and 10...Dirk suffered through a 6-for-20 shooting night for 14 points...Josh Howard led Dallas with 18 points, Terry had 13 points on 13 shots, and that was about it for the Mavs...Mavs starter Antoine Wright had a donut in 14 minutes...Utah out-boarded Dallas 54-32 and assisted on 31 of their 42 field goals...Utah made 12-of-26 treys while the Mavs were bricking 3-of-13...it's hard to believe that Dallas has a better record than the Jazz at this point of the season...that may change while Dallas is on this extended road trip.
