Rockets punk Thunder in Okie Dokie...every dog has his day, as Luis Scola leads Houston with 23 and 9...Yao has a ho-hum double double with 19 and 12...McGrady hurts his knee again and sounds frustrated...Thunder continue to get nothing from their bigs, with NickyNickyNicky and Robert Swift (perhaps the biggest freak in the entire NBA freak show) combining for 10 points in 50 minutes...R Russell Westbrook continues his emergence for OKC with 14 points and 5 steals off the bench...Kevin Durant goes off again, with 29 and 7. He'll be a tough matchup for his entire career.
Utah takes it to Phoenix in the second half...six Jazz found double figures, led by Boozer and CJ Miles with 21 each. Boozer also contributed 15 boards...Utah's Dueling Ronnies, Brewer and Price, enjoyed an off night, combining for 8 points in 47 minutes. I think that guys named Ronnie must revert to Ron on their 21st birthdays...Amare went off, with 30 and 8...Matt Barnes and Nash were the only other Suns in double figures...Shaq looks to be done with his short retro tour from last week, exploding for nine points and one rebound (!) in 32 lumbering minutes...how does Jarron Collins stay in the league? Last night all he had to show for 13 minutes as the starting center was two personal fouls. I could have done that myself, literally, at age 57 and recovering from surgery.
Poor second quarter leaves Clips gasping against Spurs...56 year old Michael Finley again led San Antonio with 19, awaiting the returns of Ginobili and Parker...Duncan was business as usual, with 20 and 15, plus 6 blocked shots for good measure...NKT Roger Mason looked great again, netting 21 points as a starter...Oberto's donut was apparently by design, as he took only one shot...the Clippers are close once again to having the "hapless" tag stuck on them. A favorable early schedule has left them 1-9, and I don't think they'll improve on that on the road...Chris Kaman finally had a good night with 17 and 13...Mobley and Baron Davis made it to double figures, shooting 13-for-35 along the way...my boy Al Thornton isn't getting it done yet this season...Marcus Camby had 7 points, 9 boards and 6 blocks...the Clippers don't seem to be panicking. In fact, they appear to be having trouble staying awake.
