Hydroxycut and its related 14 products are being recalled because they caused serious liver damage

The FDA says stop using hydroxycut. If you have any of the 14 hydroxycut products, these products are being recalled. Stop using the hydroxycut products, the MSNBC news video says. According to the online MSNBC news video below, Hydroxycut, a dietary supplement that's used to burn off fat and enhance energy  is being recalled by the FDA because it has been found to lead to liver damage. The FDA’s advisory says, “Consumers who have these products are urged to stop using them.”

In one case, someone taking the product needed a liver transplant. In another case, the death of a 19-year old man was reported in 2007 to the FDA after he used the product. The FDA warns consumers to immediately stop using the14 Hydroxycut products manufactured by Iovate Health Sciences Inc. of Oakville, Ontario, and distributed by Iovate Health Sciences USA Inc. of Blasdell, New York. The FDA  has to date received 23 reports of serious liver injuries linked to Hydroxycut products. Iovate’s own assessment of the potential risk associated with the use of these products differs from that expressed by the FDA.
