On October 1, 2009, the Bicycle Casino (also known as "The Bike") kicks off its Big Poker Oktober deep stack series.

One of the last of the annual tournaments held by The Bike, this year's Big Poker October is probably the most affordable tournament series so to be offered by any Los Angeles area poker room this year.  The October schedule reflects a No-Limit Hold'em only series, with very low buy-ins and lots and lots of starting chips.  The first event is the most affordable event costing only $65 and the $150,000 Guaranteed Championship event is the most expensive event with a buy-in set at just $345 (with $115 and $240 NLH tournaments alternating in between).  Of course, being a deep stack series, participants are given generous starting stacks ranging from at least 5K to as much as 12.5K in tournament chips.

In addition to offering large starting chip stacks for relatively small buy-ins, other incentives include a double start 2-day event costing $115 for 8K in chips with a $75,000 Guarantee commencing on Friday, October 2nd and another a double start 2-day event costing $230 for 9K in chips with a $100,000 Guarantee commencing on Friday, October 9th.   Moreover, on October 15th, The Bike is hosting "Satellite Mania!" advertised as: "One time $20 entry fee gets you in the room - then 100% of the prize pool every time you win!"  Lastly, playing any one of the Big Poker Oktober events qualifies as an entry into the October 18, 2009 Player Appreciate Freeroll and each additional event earns 1K in add-on chips.

To accommodate the Big Poker Oktober series, The Bike will discontinue the Nooner Nite daily tournaments, however the popular Nooner and Midnight Madness tournaments will continue daily at noon and midnight every day of the week, including weekends.
