Stars & Stripes TournamentThe Stars & Stripes Poker Series takes place annually at the popular Bicycle Casino in Southern California. As the name would imply, the Stars & Stripes tournament commemorates Independence Day and historically has been a tournament series that occurs on or around the July 4th holiday. The Bicycle Casino Player's Card

This year's Stars & Stripes Poker tournament shows that the Bike is keeping up with the times and has incorporated the multiple day event structure into its series, which giving rise to larger guarantees. Event No. 2 held over the July 4th weekend was the first of the two 3-day events. Posted as a $100,000 guarantee, the $230 No-Limit Hold’em event had over 500 entries and paid $27,237 to the first place winner.  Event No. 9 is another three-day No-Limit Hold’em event (buy-in is $340.00 for 7K in chips, no re-buys) that begins on Friday, July 10, with Day-1a commencing at 7:00 p.m. and Day-1b commencing the following Saturday at 4:00 p.m. The finalists from both days will combine for the final day on Sunday, July 12th to compete for a portion of the $150,000 guarantee. 

Tournament RoomAside from the multiple day events that offer a combined guarantee of $250,000, the average prize pool is between $10,000 and $50,000, and with buy-ins of $120 to $340, the Stars & Stripes series gives poker players a bankroll-friendly return on investment. In addition to No-Limit Hold’em, a variety of other poker games are being offered including Omaha High/Low, Limit Hold’em, E.O. (7 Card High/Low and Omaha High/Low), and H.O.R.S.E. (Hold’em, Omaha High/Low, Razz, 7 Card Stud, and 7 Card Stud High/Low) poker tournaments. The chip counts are fairly generous and range anywhere from 4K to 20K in chips, depending on the event and the price to buy-in.

The Bicycle Casino Event CenterThe Stars & Stripes poker tournament is just one of the many annual poker tournament series hosted by The Bicycle Casino, which is a member of the World Poker Tour (“WPT”). In addition to the two guarantees, the Stars & Stripes player appreciate event offers a $10,000 WPT Legends of Poker championship event seat added. The WPT Legends of Poker is the Bicycle Casino’s signature event which begins the last week of July 2009, at which time the Bike will unveil its new Event Center.
