CommerceCasino's L.A. Poker OpenOn Thursday, November 5, 2009, Commerce Casino commenced the L.A Poker Open tournament series with its an eye opening $500K guaranteed prize pool event.

Over a thousand poker players entered Day 1a of Event No. 1.  The total places paid for the day included 99 players with the top 27 entrants qualified to advance to the final day of play on Sunday, November 8, 2009.  Participants who came in the top ten percent, but did not qualify for day two, (myself included) received anywhere from $400 to $600, essentially doubling their $220 investment.  The skilled and/or lucky few (depending on how you look at it) that have advanced to the November 8th final day of play are:

The players with a shot for real money have yet to discovery how just much the final payout structure will be as that amount will not be determined until Commerce Casino at Nightregistration ends on Saturday, November 7th at 5:00 p.m.  It can be assumed, however, that top prize will be over $150K.
