Four daily nonstop flights to Boston starting in September
New York-based JetBlue Airways will begin flights from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport to Boston’s Logan International Airport starting September 9. JetBlue will offer four daily nonstop flights each way, for a total of eight flights on the Boston-Baltimore/Washington route.
To entice travelers, JetBlue will offer an introductory fare of $39 each way with a 14-day advance purchase. The introductory fare will expire May 4.
With the additional flights from BWI, JetBlue will offer ten daily nonstop flights from the Washington area to Boston. Currently, JetBlue flies from Washington Dulles International Airport to Boston six times daily.
The JetBlue announcement comes on the heels of Dallas-based Southwest Airlines recent decision to start flying from Boston in August. Southwest will start flying the BWI-Boston run on August 16, with five daily nonstop flights each way, with introductory fares starting at $49 one-way.
With JetBlue and Southwest set to fly from BWI to Boston in the coming months, Washington area travelers will have three low-fare airlines from which to choose to fly to Boston, as Air Tran operates flights from BWI to Boston as well.
