In a city that is often known for big dreams and even bigger hair, The Great American Trailer Park Musical is sure to make audiences laugh ‘til they cry.  You might even laugh so hard you snort Jack Daniels out your nose.

Street Theatre Company will bring The Great American Trailer Park Musical to the stage in Nashville from November 13-29.  Covering topics from agoraphobia and adultery to hysterical pregnancy and kleptomania with characters that include a toll booth collector and a stripper, the musical is definitely intended for an adult audience.

A “live soap opera” belted out in pop country songs with a seven member cast, the colorful musical comedy will draw you into all the trailer park melodrama.  The characters who live in this North Florida trailer park known as Armadillo Acres include Jeannie, who developed agoraphobia and hasn’t left her trailer since her baby was kidnapped, her husband, Norbert, and an exotic dancer named Pippi, who conveniently has moved into the trailer across the yard.  Oh, and Pippi’s ex-boyfriend, Duke, who is fighting his addiction to sniffing magic markers, is hell-bent on finding her and winning her back.  Sounds like a soap opera alright.  Or a country song.

And speaking of songs, musical numbers with titles like “Roadkill”, “Flushed Down the Pipes” and “Storm’s A-Brewin’” all but promise you will not only be entertained for a couple of hours, but you might just bust a gut from laughing so hard.

At just $15 and $13, the ticket prices are quite the bargain.  And there are nightly specials that get you $2 off your ticket price if you come with the appropriate item.  Additionally, for this show, being the third wheel is a GOOD thing.  For every two tickets purchased, the third ticket is only $3!  Visit the website for more details.

If you have ever sported a mullet, driven an el camino or gotten spray cheese under your press-on nails – or know someone who has – you’ll have a hootin’ and hollerin’ good time at The Great American Trailer Park Musical.

Performances are at Armadillo Acres trailer park (of course), also known as 1031 Elm Hill Pike, just off the Fessler’s Lane exit of I-24.  Tickets are available at www.streettheatrecompany.org.
