Millions of people worldwide watched an emotional memorial service Tuesday for superstar Michael Jackson at Staples Center.
Now, the city of Los Angeles wants to know who's going to pay for the additional police service needed to handle the crowds.
The bill to the city is expected to reach $4 million, and cash-strapped Los Angeles has begun accepting donations.
AEG Live, the concert promotion company, has been asked to foot some of the bill, but the city has also asked fans to cough up money through PayPal, via a link on Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's Twitter account.
More than 3,000 officers were deployed to ensure the ceremonies ran smoothly. Besides Staples Center, the police were deployed at various locations around town, including the Jackson family's Encino home, and several freeways were shut down.
