State health regulators fined the Bellflower Kaiser hospital $250,000 Thursday after employees snooped into the medical records of Nadya Suleman, mother of the octuplets.
It's the first fine imposed under a new state law passed after violations of privacy at UCLA Medical Center involving Farrah Fawcett, Britney Spears, Maria Shriver and other celebrities.
Since the law took effect Jan. 1, hospitals have reported about 300 incidents of improper accessing of patient records.
