Fire officials Thursday lifted the last mandatory evacuation orders in the Santa Barbara wildfire area.
Orders for the last 45 remaining properties were canceled after high winds overnight caused no problems.
The 8,700-acre burn area is 90 percent contained. The fire destroyed 80 homes last week, causing the evacuations of 30,000 people.
Ironically, the fire may have been started accidentally during mandatory brush clearing to prevent wildfires.
