Five hundred Golan Arabs visited Syria. There they declared hope that the Golan would be restored to Syria. Syria called the Golan “occupied.”
The visitors were happy to meet with their relatives in Syria, and asked humanitarian organizations to have Israel let them communicate with relatives in Syria (www.imra.org.il, 9/25) which is what Israel had just done.
The Golan was annexed in accordance with the international legal principle of protecting against repeated invasion. Hence it is not occupied.
