Grab a beach chair and one of these great summer reads. View part one of the list here.

The Penny Pinchers Club by Sarah Strohmeyer (release date: July 2): Strohmeyer’s latest novel is hilarious and hard to put down. Jersey girl Kat Griffiths fears a divorce is on the horizon, and suddenly realizes that she needs to stop her shopping habit. Kat decides to join a group called The Penny Pinchers Club to learn some smart money habits, but ends up taking them a bit overboard. In the meantime, she learns that worrying less about material things means more time with her family, a relevant lesson in today’s economy.

Somebody Else’s Daughter by Elizabeth Brundage (now in stores): Brundage weaves a story of family ties and secrets that eventually catch up to you. The exclusive Pioneer School is situated in a small town in the Massachusetts Berkshires where people come to escape from the rest of the world. Nate Gallagher comes to teach at the school, where his daughter (who he had given up for adoption 17 years ago) is a student. The disturbing relationship between the school's headmaster and his wife, and the story of a sculptor and her teenage son add to the drama in this beautifully written thriller.

Spin by Robert Rave (release date: August 18): Rave, a former entertainment publicist, delivers an impressive debut novel about the dirty world of celebrity PR. Taylor, a recent college grad, lands a job at with PR guru Jennie Weinstein, a Lizzie Grubman type who rules the New York social scene. What he doesn’t realize is that working for Jennie would be like “The Devil Wears Prada”… except worse. When Taylor finds dirt on Jennie, the tables are turned, but is he becoming his worst nightmare … just like his drugged-out, backstabbing boss?

Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella (release date: July 21): The plot sounds somewhat ridiculous (a heartbroken twenty-something, Lara, is visited by the ghost of her 105-year-old great aunt, but as a 23-year-old flapper) but Kinsella fans certainly won’t be disappointed. Twenties Girl is full of the author’s signature comedic wit and over-the-top situations that produce lots of laugh out loud, Becky Bloomwood-esque moments. You might even get a little misty-eyed at the end.

The Wildwater Walking Club by Claire Cook (now in stores): The newest release from Cook, author of Must Love Dogs and Life’s a Beach, is a great feel-good story about strong female friendships. When Noreen Kelly loses her job and boyfriend in swift succession, she starts walking to get herself out of the house. Soon neighbors Tess and Rosie join and they form a walking club, learning that walking is not only great exercise, but great therapy. Fun fact: the author walked 10,000 steps per day while writing this book.
