Rainy Sundays are perfect for browsing through a book store, and today at Barnes and Noble I found a few new books that I definitely need to check out. As I'm trying to be more budget conscious (see my article on reading in a recession), I opted for only one book this time, "Vision in White," the latest from Nora Roberts (just released on April 28).
The first novel in her new Bride Quartet series, Vision in White centers on Mac, one of four friends who owns a Connecticut-based wedding planning company called Vows. It seems that future books (the next one comes out in December) will focus on each of the remaining three friends, Parker, Emma and Laurel.
According to her newsletter, Roberts was inspired to start this series after helping to plan her younger son's wedding last summer.
I've never read a Nora Roberts novel before, but have heard great things, so I am excited to see what she is all about.
On a completely unrelated note, while I was browsing through her Web site, I came across the fact that Roberts and her husband own a new boutique hotel in Western Maryland called the Inn BoonsBoro. Seven of the hotel's rooms are inspired by a famous literary couple and themed as such, and there is also a penthouse suite. From the photos on the hotel's Web site, and in this USA Today article, it looks like a great place for a romantic weekend trip.
