Dear readers,

When I became a Live Music Examiner in March, I treated the position as if it was another full-time job. I jotted down story ideas the moment I left my 9-to-5 in the District, then began writing the moment I sat at home in College Park. Before April ended, I had created an editorial calendar lasting till mid-May, plans to explore the best up-and-coming venues, the rising local stars, the facts.

But once April ended, I got laid off from my 9-to-5. While my heart wanted to continue researching and writing for Examiner.com, my mind would not let me. As I quickly found out, with unemployment comes a surprising amount of work – applying for new health insurance and filing an unemployment insurance claim, along with finding another job.

The quest for full-time employment still continues, so I have started working part-time at Suburban Hospital and its Outpatient Surgery Center in Bethesda, Md. In the meantime, I will be planning to resume Examiner coverage on June 7. If you have any band, venue, or event that you want me to take to consideration, let me know. If you want to just say hello, feel free to do so. I can be reached at mina.ann.lee@gmail.com.

Sincerely,

Christina Lee
