Ancestry.com has added many new records to their database that may be of particular interest to New York researchers including records of the "Official Army register of the volunteer force of the United States Army, 1861-1865, Parts 1-8" and "History of the Seventh Regiment of New York, 1806-1889, Vols. 1-2"..
These can be accessed, along with other databases on ancestry.com at most public libraries or LDS Family History Centers without charge. For a complete listing of the new records that have been recently added, click here.
