The leather sandal is not for the average man, but then again the leather sandal itself is not average. In the hot and humid days of summer, you want your feet to breathe, be comfortable, and still look good. No other footwear embodies this more than leather sandals. Leather sandals will look good at almost any casual occasion. Some sandals can even be dressed up and go well with a khaki suit. When hanging out near the beach, try pairing leather sandals with linen pants to create a look right out of GQ that is still affordable. They can also be paired with designer jeans for the evening or a night out on the town. Men who like to wear shorts will especially appreciate leather sandals because they compliment each other so well. When it comes to sandals, many people believe that socks should never be worn. I, on the other hand, am all for socks with sandals. However, the socks must be ankle length and of a darker hue and lighter fabric. Athletic socks should be left for the sneaker while at the gym. If you choose to wear sandals with no socks, then be sure to have gotten a pedicure beforehand. There is nothing more tacky and styleless than exposing Fred Flinstone feet from a pair of nice leather sandals. And yes, men get pedicures!

There are several different styles of leather sandals for different occasions and outfits. I like the ones that are open toed but still cover the top of the foot, as it allows for more support. They also come with the tong which is more flip-flop style and others come up to the ankle creating the gladiator look. Black and brown are the most common colors for leather sandals. However, any darker color or earth tone such as navy blue and forest green will look great. Designers such as Kenneth Cole, Cole Hann, and Prada make comfortable sandals that are stylish with detailed stitching and even leather soles. A good pair of durable leather sandals can range anywhere from $39.99 to $149.99. It's an investment that is well worth it!
