I just received the information today and there is not much time to enter, but, the Campaign for Disability Employment is sponsoring a video contest for people with disabilities to display what they can do. The contest ends on July 15, 2009. To find out more about the contest click on this link, http://jan.wvu.edu/videocontest.

The first prize is $1,500.00 which is furnished by Best Buy. They are looking for original videos that show people with disabilities demonstrating what they can do in a work environment. The emphasis is on the “CAN”.  People with disabilities can do so much and I hope this contest will open the eyes of many people throughout the country.

The target audience is all employers, people with disabilities (including youth with disabilities), people that have influence on youth such as (family, educators, coaches, clergy, etc.), and the general public.

You must upload the video to the contest web site no later than July 15th. You may submit as many videos as you like and they have to be 60 seconds or less in length. This and more about the contest can be found on the above web site.

The sponsoring group, the Campaign for Disability Employment is a collaborative effort of the American Association of People with Disabilities, the National Business and Disability Council, Special Olympics, and the Job Accommodation Network. For more information on the contest you may contact the Job Accommodation Network at videocontest@jan.wvu.edu.
