Michael Jackson 'This Is It' continues to climb in earnings, film grosses $144 million worldwide

To the delight of fans everywhere, Michael Jackson's film, 'This Is It' has made $144 million dollars worldwide thus far. According to Reuters, "Outside of North America, the biggest theatrical markets through Thursday night were: Japan with $18.2 million, Britain with $11.1 million and Germany with $8.9 million."

Last Halloween weekend, the film had grossed $101 million which was more than was originally anticipated. AEG had originally announced that the film would make an estimated $30 million, which is vastly different from what it has actually earned.

'This Is It' was only supposed to run for two weeks, but Sony has extended that run "until early December in the United States and Canada."
