If you think purity rings are just for the Jonas Brothers or Jordin Sparks – think again! While there is no doubt that purity rings have become a trend in a sense, generations of vitue - men and women of all ages, have worn them with pride for many years. There are two types of people who wear these rings: people who pledge their virginity until marriage, and those who have seen the benefit of abstinence before marriage. Many who wear purity rings are religious and make their promise to God. Premarital sex is accepted as the norm by society despite its religious implications while virginity is shunned. There are many people who pledge abstinence for non-religious reasons. With the rise of sexually transmitted diseases, people are rethinking their beliefs while avoiding peer pressure and unwanted pregnancies.

There are many organizations that provide resources for those interested in pledging their purity including: Waitt.org, Lifeway.com. Generations of Virtue is a non-profit, volunteer-driven ministry that equips parents to empower their children for purity in our world today. They work closely with parents and teens as they provide them with classic and cutting-edge resources to fight the battle for purity. They also sell purity rings and other pieces of jewelry. Generations of Virtue is the best online source for purity rings.
