Janet Napolitano, head of DHS

Wow, did the Feds step in it this time.

Come on, you’re kidding me right? "Right-wing extremists", that’s the threat we now face? Last year it was al Quaida, now our own war vets? They now apparently have a predisposition to become recruited by right-wing extremist elements and should be subject to monitoring and neutralization. Not to mention public marginalization.

I knew they were going to chip away at our rights in this administration. But even the most cynical of cynical amongst us couldn't have envisioned this fascist dream approaching with such haste.

Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Homeland Security, released a briefing to “local agencies” that basically tries to marginalize a political view held by about half, if not more of the country. Predictably using Timothy McVeigh (14 years ago) as the lone example, they warn of domestic terrorism performed by war veterans, who are apparently more susceptible to persuasion by extremists. It couldn’t have anything to do with that administrations’ attempt to squash an opposing view. Nah.

The Bill of Rights is set in place to guarantee the preservation of God-given freedoms. Now the "Homeland Security" office is making overtures at those who oppose the expansion of the Federal Government including those actively fighting for it. Sounds like simple self-preservation to me.

Do you understand how dangerous this is? What danger you are in?

Fortunately, this won't be accepted much longer. It should at least give pause to the "left" as well, if not have them in the streets with us. As Americans we cannot accept this kind of intimidation from our own representatives. Janet [Napolitano], Eric [Holder], remember who allows for your existence, and your temporary clout.

It's a sucker punch to the best of us. Our vets have performed famously and efficiently in this current fiasco in Iraq, no matter how you come out on the conflict itself. Now, to come home to that worm Napolitano and that traitor Holder speaking of their vulnerabilities to "extreme right-wing" ideologies and their eventual recruitment to violent groups. Like they have no freedom to believe what they want, after "protecting" that same right for years in their prime. One has to wonder where they keep their giant huevos.

The only logical reason to release that kind of report the day before the Tea Parties would be to incite that kind of “extremism”. They craved it. Homeland Security would then have a reason to exist again.

I can hear it now, “Another right-wing nut, reminiscent of Timothy McVeigh, did such and such today, and the Department of Homeland security is assessing the danger and taking the necessary steps, we’ll keep you posted. Back to you Bill.”

Well, it is kind of hard to justify the $50.5 billion they take from us with no imminent threat. So, they’ll just make one. Typical.

You guys on board yet? Are you tired of their bloated and corrupt apparatus? Where are the Republicans? They didn’t hear that their only constituents are being monitored and attacked by a Leninist-fascist regime? Or they just don’t care, they’ll get to it after 2010 elections.

Oh, not to mention, what constitutes a "right-wing extremist" exactly, Janet? Is it someone who thinks that gun-rights should be upheld? Someone who outwardly opposes abortion? A third party candidate? Gay marriage? Those who want smaller government? Border security?

Well, according to the report, yes, yes, yes, yes ,yes, and yes.

And if someone is “right-wing”, when do they become “extreme”? If you say it’s when they become violent, then it’s too late. And at that point, what do we pay you for ma’am?

In turn, we can easily assume “Big Sister” will be actively pursuing these conservative thinkers and war vets pointlessly, and probably unsuccessfully. Predictably, they’ll create more problems than they prevent and thus the cycle continues.

We seriously need to get a clue as a nation. To be fair, some Americans “get it”. Radio commentator, Michael Savage is suing the Department of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, and Attorney General Eric Holder for violating the 1st and 5th Amendments to the Constitution. Which protect “freedom of speech” and “trial and punishment” respectively. He points out, rightfully so, that the “right-wing extremist” policy is at the very least a tool to deter support of political opposition. He isn’t the only one.

So, fellow Americans, where is the line? That’s the pivotal question of our times. How much will we let them take?
