The red carpet shined Sunday night at the 51st annual Primetime Emmy Awards celebration held at the Nokia Theatre. Stars stepped foot on the red carpet gleaming in jewels and fabulous gowns — but those that wanted to really standout among who’s who in Hollywood opted to wear platinum jewelry.
Style expert, Michael O’Connor noted that the Platinum Jewelry Suite held at a luxury hotel in Beverly Hills on September 18th and 19th prior to the Emmys “had a lot of people come through” — including stylists and stars from shows such as True blood, Desperate Housewives, The Office, and Two and a Half Men. Michael explained why the Platinum Jewelry Suite held in honor of the Emmys attracted so many Stars to attend and clamor over the precious platinum metal. Michael noted, “when celebrities are getting dressed what they’re looking for is the very best clothing options that they have, that are going to fit them absolutely perfectly, things that are going to be from the best designers in the world — and in jewelry they’re looking for the same things, they’re looking for the best designers in the world and the top designers in the world always design in platinum…artwork that you can wear for life.”
As style expert Michael O’Connor explained, Emmy night proved to be the night of Stars fashioned by platinum — the metal of choice among celebrities who were red-carpet ready sparkling in the naturally white metal which allowed diamonds to shine.
Among those that gleamed in platinum was Emmy award winner Kristin Chenoweth who wore platinum and diamond stud earrings, and a platinum ring with a 15-carat aquamarine by Tiffany & Co. As Kristen graciously accepted the Emmy award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a comedy for her role in “Pushing Daisies” — she radiated on stage in platinum while she won us over with her heartfelt speech. Others platinum jewelry aficionados included Emmy favorite Tina Fey, presenter Dana Delaney, nominee Seth Green and performer Karina Smirnoff.
The 51st annual Primetime Emmy Awards exuded old Hollywood glamour along with a modern edge filled with starlets and leading men from all facets of television — shining bright as the stars they truly are with the help of platinum jewelry!.
