Football great Lawrence Taylor arrested for crashing his vehicle then fleeing the scene

Although Taylor's eyes are bloodshot, police state, that there were no drugs or alcohol involved.
Former NFL superstar Lawrence Taylor, 50, was arrested yesterday for crashing his vehicle then fleeing from the scene of the crime. According to police records, the Ex-New York Giants player and ABC-TV show Dancing with the Stars season eight contestant, crashed his vehicle at around 6:35 p.m. on a Miami-Dade expressway
The two-time Superbowl winner, allegedly hit another car, crashed into a guard rail, left the accident scene, then drove for a few miles with only three tires on his vehicle. Taylor, who has a history of drug abuse was apparently coherent, when police caught up with him standing outside of his vehicle while talking on his cell phone. Authorities found no evidence of drugs or alcohol and they did not think it was necessary to perform a sobriety test on the football legend.
When questioned by police, Taylor seemed convinced, that he had only struck a guard rail and not another vehicle. There were no reported injuries. Taylor was arrested for leaving the scene of a crime. He was released a short time later on a $500 bond.
