Lauren Conrad, former cast member on The Hills, has topped the New York Times Best Seller list with her book L.A. Candy. It's held the number one spot for two weeks running. That's no small feat.
Conrad told PEOPLE, "If someone said to me five years ago when this all started that I would one day make the New York Times Best Seller list I wouldn't have believed it."
She went on to say, "It was such a compliment to be included in something with such established names."
L.A. Candy is about a girl named Jane Roberts, 19-year-old from Santa Barbara, who moves to Los Angeles and ends up starring in her very own reality television show. Sound familiar? It should since it mirrors Conrad's life to some degree.
L.A. Candy was released on June 16. You can purchase it at Amazon.com where it currently has a four-star customer review rating.
If you enjoyed Conrad's first writing endeavor, be sure to keep your eyes open for Sweet Little Lies: An L.A. Candy Novel, the second book in a three-part deal. It's due out in February 2010.
Prior to starring on The Hills, Conrad also appeared on Laguna Beach, another reality show on MTV. Conrad's last appearance on The Hills was in the episode "Something Old, Something New," which originally aired on May 31, 2009.
