Burda 7563

This week’s pattern pick is Burda 7563.

Why it works: This is one of those quintessential pieces that can take you anywhere. It’s styled for jersey knits, so it’s comfortable and forgiving.

Why you’ll love it: The princess seams help you get the fit you want. The shorter length gives you a soft, versatile ‘jacket’. The shortest version – the shirt – is a wrap-look garment and makes it a great wear-it-anytime, weekend look. All three versions make this a flexible pattern with lots of options.

Some fabrics to consider: There are a many types pf jersey available. Prints can give you a classic, Diane Von Furstenberg look. Rayon blends give just the right amount of smooth ‘drape’.

Other options: Contrasting collar and cuffs can dress it down a bit but can also give a great, finished look when worn under a blazer or jacket. Keep in mind that the patterns are graded using European sizing, but the US equivalents are listed on the back of the pattern envelope.
