This week's pattern pick is Butterick 4789
Why it works: Summer may be winding down, but there's still time to get in a few warm weather sewing projects before the leaves start to fall. It’s always great to have some patterns in your stash that you can just whip up. This is one of them and it's available in two multi-size ranges: 8-10-12-14 and 16-18-20-22.
Why you’ll love it: Two words: quick & comfortable. And if you aren't able to get much wear from these pieces this season, you'll have something almost new and ready to wear when you open your closet next spring.
Some fabrics to consider: The pattern is drafted for stretch knits only so now is the time to dust of your serger. There are lots of great knit prints available and this pattern will have you putting them to good use.
Other options: Lengthen the top a bit (or shorten the dress) for more of a tunic-style top. Leave a few inches of the side seams unsewn near the hem for comfort and movement. Topstitch the slits for a finished look.
