The latest election cycle is over just in time for the New Year's Resolution cycle! At the top of the list for tens of thousands of us is this resolve: LOSE WEIGHT!
Ads are beaming at us incessantly now, ones that savvy ad folks wrote to persuade the emotional buyer in all of us that their weight loss programs, pills, or exercise routines will make us look just like the beautiful, slim models they use in their ads. Those savvy writers know that tons of Americans want to lose personal tonnage now! The ads will keep a-comin', too, for weeks and months yet, because enough of us take them up on their offers.
Happily for me, I'll keep dropping the extra weight and keep my money, too. I've stumbled onto the single best weight loss idea I've ever found---and it costs nothing to use. Are you ready for this astounding idea? Stop eating the foods you're allergic to. James LaValle is a medical professional who talks about this weight-loss approach in a recent article he wrote.
Of course, the catch is that you have a food allergy. My allergies to wheat and dairy have been my health bugaboo for quite a while. It's never been fun to turn down foods I'm allergic to, like a dish of ice cream topped with caramel or hot fudge sauce. It just seems to unsociable. But it's a reality I live with. Thankfully, there are good organic foods, including non-dairy frozen desserts, that keep me sated and happy while those bowls of ice cream are consumed around me with relish. Banning wheat from my diet has meant I've dropped a clothing size---and look better, I've been told---but the downside (isn't there always a downside to the upside?) is that donuts, cinnamon rolls, breads, and pasta are off my menu (maybe once in a blue moon)..
As you plan how you'll drop those unwanted pounds this year, if you have an allergy, consider avoiding that food. It's an inexpensive, healthier way to approach life as a slimmer you.
