Have you mastered the Art of Study?  Unfortunately, none of us are born knowing how to study.  We are born with a lifetime of things to learn and initially the ‘trial and error’ method is our only option.  As we grow older, there is an abundance of opportunities to ‘learn’ sports and other activities with a huge number of friends and adults willing and able to help us.  Not so with academics.  (Search through the academic categories below for helpful articles found on this site.)

Academic study is not perceived as fun, so we must work to develop our own method of study in order to become somewhat successful in the classroom.  It doesn’t matter what kind of classroom you have, it may be in a public school system or your own ‘home school’.  Learning has to take place no matter where you set up your study shop.

Many students waste a lot of time 'trying' to study, which could be used later for other activities.  It’s very important to develop a ‘study system’ that actually works for you and stick with it.  A good study system will provide you with a lot of extra personal time down the road.

Use your study system everyday so that you get ahead and avoid falling behind.  You must be honest with yourself.  If your system of study is producing low grades, it’s time to develop a new system!  With this approach to study, you will be less stressed and more prepared.  You’re happier, the teacher is happier, and the parents are happier.  Life is good.

Check some of the articles in the following categories to see if they could help with your study.  I’d like to hear about your success stories.  If you’re not having much success, let me know and maybe I can make some suggestions.  You may also want to check out some of the LINKS in the right hand column of this page.  They may help with your study.
