Sam’s Chowder House on California’s Highway 1 in Half Moon Bay is having a photo contest promo.
Located about 30 minutes by road south of San Francisco, Sam’s serves daily fresh fish, live Maine lobster and fresh crab, fish and chips, chowders, award-winning lobster rolls, fried calamari, and other local specialties.
Oceanfront outdoor seating with Adirondack chairs, wind protection, fire pits and heat lamps (see picture middle right, with Sam's view across to, in the distance, Mavericks surf spot, which is toward the end of the bluff) make Sam’s a year-round lunch and dinner option.
Shutterbugs who snap and enter pics in any of the following six categories are eligible.
Best People Shot Entrants may submit up to three photographs per category. There’s an entry fee of $10 per photo. All photos must be taken at Sam’s Chowder House, or present a view that can be seen from the restaurant. Category winners earn $100 first prize, $50 second prize and $25 third prize and have a chance to win the grand prize of $1,000.
The $1,000 photo will be published in the Half Moon Bay Review, displayed at Sam’s Chowder House, and featured on Sam’s website, blog, and e-mail.
The contest judges include Marc Hershon, co-author of the book “I Hate People!”; Debra Godshall, publisher of
the Half Moon Bay Review and Paul Shenkman, co-owner of Sam’s Chowder House. Photos will be judged on quality, composition, color and creativity.
The contest runs through Friday, November 20, 2009, at 11:59pm. Winners will be announced on Sam’s website on or about the week of December 11, 2009, and notified by e-mail.
