The PSP is having a down year so far in 2009 even with the launch of a new model, the PSP Go. Still, the handheld video game system and its related products would make great gifts. Here is the holiday gift guide for the PSP in 2009.
Hardware
Although the PSP Go was released in 2009, the new model isn’t for everyone. While it is a better device ergonomically than the PSP-3000, it lacks the ability to play UMD games since it is a digital-only device. You may be better off getting the older model to ensure that you have the ability to play all the PSP games released so far.
Accessories
Headphones
You will need headphones if you plan on playing or using your PSP for entertainment purposes when you leave your house. Since all the models have a standard audio jack, any headphones will work.
Playstation Network Card
The launch of the PSP Go brought plenty of new digital content to the Playstation Store. In order to purchase these products, you will need money in your digital wallet. One method to fill it up is to purchase the $10, $20 and $50 Playstation Network Cards at retail.
PSP/PSP Go Component/Composite Cables
With these special cables, you can hook your PSP to the television screen. Just make sure you buy the correct ones for your PSP model and television screen.
Games
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars
The PSP version of the already excellent Nintendo DS game includes enhance graphics and widescreen support.
LittleBigPlanet
The award-winning LittleBigPlanet brings its patented “Play Create Share” features to the PSP. You can expect to play through numerous fun platforming levels in addition to limitless user-created ones. Not to mention that you can also create and share your own.
