The Playstation 3 was struggling on the market for most of 2009. Fortunately for Sony, the high-definition system saw resurgence is sales thanks to the recent price drop and re-branding. It is now one of the hottest items of the holiday season. Here is the 2009 holiday shopping guide for the Playstation 3.
Hardware
Although you could buy the 250 GB Playstation 3 for $349.99 this holiday season, the 120 GB Playstation 3 should contain more than enough hard drive space for your gaming and entertainment needs at $299.99. Keep in mind that the new Playstation 3 models can’t play Playstation 2 titles, however.
Accessories
Playstation 3 Blu-Ray Disc Remote
Although it is not required, the Playstation 3 Blu-ray Disc Remote does make navigation a lot more intuitive for those who primarily use the system as a media player.
HDMI Cable
The Playstation 3 doesn’t come with a HDMI cable. Fortunately, this accessory can be found for a pretty cheap price as long as you do a bit of digging this holiday season.

Playstation Network Card
In order to buy content from the Playstation Store, you will need either a credit card or a Playstation Network Card. You can buy the latter in three increments: $10, $20 or $50.

The sequel to one of the best-selling game of all-times features a deeper online multiplayer in addition to a new co-op mode called Spec-Ops.
Demon’s Souls
If you are stomach the relentless difficulty, you will find an addicting and engrossing RPG title in Demon’s Souls.
