After being down for hours, the Playstation 3 servers for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is now coming back online gradually (about 20,000 sign-ins at once) according to the personal Twitter page from Robert Bowling of Infinity Ward. The developer warns, however, that some users may still be experiencing issues.
He also revealed that the sever overload caused the Demonware server to died and, thus, forcing Sony to block all connections to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 from the Playstation 3 servers in order to keep the Playstation Network running.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was released yesterday for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The Playstation 3 version got its servers overloaded during launch due to high demand.
Update: It looks like the servers are back in full force. Robert Bowling just tweeted the following message:
Final #MW2 PS3 Status update of the day: PSN Multiplayer should be running at full capacity. We expect smooth skies ahead.
