Japan’s top ten best-selling games in the first half of 2009

Earlier this week, Enterbrain and Famitsu posted the top five list for the best-selling games of 2009 so far in Japan. The latest Famitsu issue revealed the rest of the top ten. So here are the top ten best-selling games during the first-half of 2009 in the land of the rising sun:

1. Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (Nintendo DS) - 647,844
2. Monster Hunter Freedom Unite: PSP the Best Version (PSP) - 595,348
3. Yakuza 3 (Playstation 3) - 489,739
4. Resident Evil 5 (Playstation 3) - 472,261
5. Wii Fit (Nintendo Wii) - 465,838
6. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (Nintendo DS) – 462,453
7. Rhythm Heaven (Nintendo DS) – 398,069
8. Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce (PSP) – 383,326
9. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky (Nintendo DS) – 357,271
10. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo Wii) – 353,817

Despite being released on June 25th, Wii Sports Resort managed to sneak in on the tenth spot. You can expect the Nintendo Wii exclusive to end up near the top of the best-selling games list in 2009 for Japan by the end of the year.
