Life Project for Africa is auctioning off two of the most well known automotive icons of TV. Replicas of the Batmoblie from the 1966 TV series and The Green Hornet's 1966 Chrysler Imperial-based Black Beauty are on the block and currently accepting bids.
And what timing! You're sure to set family members' tongues wagging as you roll up to grandma's house on Thanksgiving day in one of these contraptions. And, just watch their jaws drop when you use the Batmobile's flame-thrower to roast the Butterball!
Both cars come complete with special crime-fighting gear. The Batmobile has an air suspension, a 750 H.P. engine, a flame thrower and a roll-up dash. The Black Beauty is said to include, "all original equipment."
The 1966 Batmobile was a custom by George Barris on a 1955 Lincoln Futura dream car originally built by Ghia. The Green Hornet's Black Beauty was a 1966 Chrysler Imperial sedan modified by Dean Jeffries.
Check out a slide show of images below.
The Black Beauty is valued at $150,000. The Batmobile recreation is valued at $300,000 and bidding is currently running around 10% of that. Just click here to place your bid.
The gavel goes down on November 16. Don't miss this rare opportunity.
