Oprah Winfrey has announced she is removing gospel singer BeBe Winans from her show. Winans is accused of pushing ex-wife Debra Winans to the ground last winter and faces misdemeanor domestic assault charges.
After last week’s karaoke challenge segment, bloggers chastised Oprah for featuring Winans after the talk show host took a stand against domestic violence by refusing Chris Brown following his assault of Rihanna.
Until the charges are resolved, (Winans' court date is set for January 20), the singer will not appear on the show again, though the Karaoke Challenge will continue. Notably, Winans' 10 karaoke tips have also been removed from oprah.com.
