CMT once again brings the joy of theatre to the Montgomery stage. Candide is a musical version of Voltaire’s novel of the same name. The show takes a musically comedic look at the stories of four young philosophers. Director Kevin Hauge describes the show as being “filled with simple truths and pure joy.”

Cast members rave about the show and explain why it is a great show to come and see. Kayleigh Laymon states that the show has “fabulous music and amazing ensemble work” and believes that it is “a fascinating look at what life was like in Voltaire’s time…(and a) wacky Monty Python style.” Well, who doesn’t love that! Ryan Vasquez adds that “the music will affect anyone who hears it, and the physical, quirky comedy created by the characters is hilarious… Candide is also a fantastic experience. Candide is a show for everyone.”

Candide is currently showing at Montgomery Theater in downtown San Jose. Upcoming shows are:
Thursday, May 14th at 7pm
Friday, May 15th at 7pm
Saturday, May 16th at 2pm and 7pm
Sunday, May 17th at 1pm

Tickets are $16-$23 and can be purchased at the SJTIX box office inside the San Jose Convention Center during the office hours of Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm. Tickets are also available at the Montgomery Theatre an hour before showtime.
