Well, it happens every week or maybe it just seems like it. Some self righteous rightwinger spouts off about morals or immoral behavior by others and is quickly proven, once again, that people who live in glass houses, shouln't get stoned or, is it, throw stones? The latest entry into the rightwing hall of shame is Carrie Prejean, the Miss California USA wannbe who became the latest hero of the right, along with the always brainy Sarah Palin, bizzaro woman from hell, Michele Bachmann and the scarecrow of the right, Ann Coulter.

Carrie's a beautiful woman who, had she kept her pretty little mouth shut, may have won that contest and become a celebrity with a future. But no, she had to mouth off about marriage, specifically a reference to gay marriage which of course made her an instant hero to the hate mongering rightwing. Frankly, I wouldn't care about this story but I always get fed up with moralists who have their own issues. In Carries case, she was exposed as not being as pure as the driven snow when she tried to get some spending money by suing the Miss California USA Pagaent for her losing the crown. It seems a video was found of Carrie getting herself off, so to speak. When the people she was suing threatened to release the explicit tape, so she dropped her lawsuit.

Again, I don't care about the tape she made, it's the attempt to be this moral arbiter of others, a hallmark of the right, that makes my skin crawl. What's worse is that she becomes the darling of the mutant media types like Sean Hannity, a guy who can always give a pass to a phony like Prejean. Hannity is the guy who tried to make hay out of the Terri Schiavo case, a horrific spectacle of shame by the right.

Rush Limbaugh wanted drug users thrown in jail until he got busted illegally attaining drugs. Larry Craig spoke out against Clinton's immoral behavior, only to be found seeking men in airport bathrooms. Mark Foley, another Republican politician like Craig, was busted going after teenage boy pages in the hallowed halls of our beloved Capitol building. Ditto what I said about these phonys regarding David Vitter, another family values guy busted having sex, outside his marriage, with a prostitute. Don't forget Mark Sanford!

I could go on with the list of lying cheats but my point is made. It's not that I think Democrats are immune from bad behavior but they just (generally speaking) go around telling others how to act. I'd love to see Carries love video and hopefully it will be on the internet soon but I wish she and the other holier-than-thou crow would wise up and shut up. Don't worry about other peoples behavior, it's none of your business. The rightwing crowd will always buy into the simplistic moral ramblings of some self appointed moralist but that card has been played over and over again. Joe McCarthy tried it in the 1950s and more recently, that buffoon Bill Bennet was actually selling his book and lecturing people on values, all the while he was involved in compulsive gambling. I wish for once this group would stop telling others how to behave and offer some real solutions for problems that actually matter, like healthcare reform.
