When My Name Is Earl was cancelled by NBC a few weeks ago, reports were TBS and at least two other networks were interested in picking up the show, a la Scrubs and Medium which both found new life at other networks.

However, now Entertainment Weekly is reporting TBS has no interest in bringing the show back, and so My Name Is Earl is dead to the world.

Saying they couldn't make the "economics work" sems to mean they couldn't afford to bring everyone back, based on the ratings Earl was delivering and the star power of resigning Jason Lee, Ethan Suplee, creator Greg Garcia, and the rest of the cast.

Earl finished with 96 episodes, and is already in syndication. Sadly, the show had really hit its stride in the final season and finished on a cliffhanger. I guess we'll never know the real father of Joy's baby.
