Fetch! Pet Care is the nation’s largest provider of professional pet sitting and dog walking services. This Halloween, they want to remind everyone to treat their canine humanely. Holidays like Halloween can often put our four-legged friends in danger. As a result, Fetch! Pet Care recommends the following tips to dog owners.
Tip #1- Offer extra care for a black dog. Animals with black or dark coats often fall prey to Halloween pranksters. So keep an eye on yours and any kids or teens around him.
Tip #2- Put an id tag/collar on your dog. If your dog can’t handle all of the Halloween festivities and runs off, you need to be able to find him. Therefore, get his Id tag/collar on around 2 pm before the trick-or-treaters ring your doorbell.
Tip #3- Keep decorations out of reach. Halloween decorations, especially ones with electrical cords, should be out of the reach of your dog. He may accidentally shock himself. Use plastic tubing for electrical cords and put candles and other items up high.
Tip #4- Don’t feed your dog any candy. This tip is the oldest one in the book. Candy isn’t a treat for a dog. Let your entire family, friends and visitors know, so your dog doesn’t end up sick. If you want to give him a treat on Halloween, give him an extra piece of meat.
Tip 5- Buy a costume that fits your dog. Halloween shouldn‘t be an excuse to stuff your pet dog into an outfit that is too tight. If it doesn‘t fit, you must acquit. Either buy a bigger better-suited outfit or let him go au natural.
This tips are the ones Fetch! Pet Care recommends for dog owners. They will help you treat your canine humanely on Halloween, which will help him enjoy one of the most popular Holidays of the year too.
