PhillyFIT BASH is a unique interactive expo for the whole family where you can find the latest trends in health, fitness and beauty in the Philadelphia area. This is the tenth expo, held twice a year, where 80 or more local health, wellness, beauty and fitness businesses join forces to stage the biggest family fitness event in the area.
This year’s expo is being held on Sunday, November 15th at Philadelphia Sports Club at Highpoint in Chalfont and also raises money for WAGS Rescue and Referral, a Bucks County based animal rescue group.
The BASH is sponsored by PhillyFIT Magazine and organized by its owner, Jami Appenzeller-Yancy. The intention is to bring together experts to teach the newest innovations in health and fitness, all in a party-like atmosphere.
“Basically, it's a terrific family health and fitness expo with a party-like twist," says Appenzeller-Yancy, “with tons of lively entertainment, a workout-a-thon, and interactive events.” It’s an opportunity for people to try things on for size to see what they might enjoy in the world of health and fitness.
Information and sample workouts will be available for a wide variety of activities so attendees are encouraged to wear workout gear. Included among the workouts are Salsa, Zumba, bootcamps, Yoga, Kettlebells, belly dancing, hip-hop routines, breakdancing, and tango.
The 3-hour Workout-a-thon will consist of a series of group exercise routines conducted by the best instructors in the Philadelphia area and will give participants an opportunity to vote for their favorite instructors.
In the beauty field, attendees will be able to get a haircut or a beauty make-over, or learn a new skin care regimen. Body workers will provide free massage, reiki, shiatsu or reflexology treatments. New products and treatments will be demonstrated by holistic and alternative health practitioners, and participants in healthy cooking workshops and demonstrations will be able to sample the latest in healthy foods.
Live music and entertainment will include Phresh Select, Anwar, the 950 ESPN Dancing Dolls and champion cheerleading teams, as well as the Eagles mascot SWOOP.
There will be scores of raffles offered by the vendors and raffle proceeds will benefit the WAGS animal rescue. Bring the whole family and the kids will love the obstacle course, bounces and other games.
Admission is $5.00 and children under 5 years are free.
