The weather has started to change..long hot days are being replaced by softer, sweeter days and cooler nights as we make our way into the fall season.

Autumn is a time of settling, of gathering our thoughts, our minds, our hearts together to prepare for our winter rest.  It is a time of letting go of things in our lives that don't work anymore, preparing for the new harvest of opportunities awaiting us in the new spring.

Sandalwood Essential oil is the oil for October.  From a physical standpoint, Sandalwood oil is cooling and soothing, excellent for conditions that are "congesting", or "hot" - diarrhea, chest congestion, flu's, etc.  It's sweet, rich almost earthy aroma is perfect for connecting with the fall season, and it's deep orange-brown coloring matches that of our earths plants and leaves.

Sandalwood inspires our hearts and minds to a calming, meditative state.  It resonates well with bergamot, orange, rosewood, patchouli and lavender.

Bring sandalwood into your home in a diffuser or spray for air disinfecting, calming and bringing peace.  Add to bath to soothe dry, cracked skin and frazzled nerves.  Sandalwood will bring in the spirit of the season, preparing body and home for the coming winter.  Sandalwood oil is excellent to have on hand during cold and flu season, as it combines well with other antiseptic and disinfecting oils to prevent and treat a myriad of cold and flu symptoms/conditions.

Remember, as with any essential oil, less is more.  Buy a good quality essential oil, in dark bottles.  Do not buy fragrance oils, as they are artificial and do not contain any healing properties.

Invite sandalwood into your home this October for peace and to prepare yourself for the coming winter.
