The one question that seems to be on everyone's mind right now...how do I prevent the flu?  I won't delve into the "shot or no shot" debate, as that is a personal decision each person must make on their own.  Aside from the much touted vaccination, what can you do on a daily basis to prevent illness from overtaking your world?  Prevention.

It sounds so simple, and truly, with some diligence, it is.  If you have the power to pay attention, and the knowledge to prevent, and treat, minor illnesses, you are already ahead of the game.

Steven Horn offers a wonderful A, B, C + D approach that I share with almost everyone.  It's a classic, simple route to good health.

A = Activation.  Keep the gut moving so that the bad bacteria can't take over.  Our first line of defense.

B = Build.  Build a good foundation for your immune system to stand on.

C = Cleanse.  Keep the system clean.

D = Direct Aid.  Have your problem solving solutions on hand BEFORE you need them!

Sounds easy enough, right?  And it can be.  Following just a few steps:

Activation:  Start by making sure that the gut, and the body are clean.  Eating low on the food chain, lean meats, whole grains, plenty of water, to keep the flora in the gut healthy, and everything moving along like it needs to.  Also, activating the immune system.  Think about ways that germs/bacteria/dis-ease enter the body.  Ways you may not have considered before.  Make sure that sinuses are clear, ears, teeth and gums are clean, and try to limit stress.  All of these factors lead to misalignment in the system, allowing for dis-ease to enter.

Boost:  Utilize products in your home and body that boost the immune system.  I am a huge proponent of Colloidal Silver, and love Nature's Sunshine Silver Shield.  I have used many colloidal silver products over the years, and have found this to be the safest, and most effective.  If you would like more information on Silver Shield, or Silver Sol, please visit this site.  Using Essential oils like Tea Tree, Thyme, Oregano, Lemon and Pink Grapefruit to cleanse and disinfect the home is a quick and easy way to eliminate bacteria on surfaces and in the air.  Internally, products such as Silver Shield, Oregon grape, Vitamin C, omega 3, probiotics and Colostrum all help to boost the immune system and keep things healthy.

Cleanse.  I am a barefoot person.  Always have been.  So, each fall, I do a parasite cleanse just to make sure that things that shouldn't be in my system, aren't.  It's easy, takes about 2 weeks, and I know that going into the winter season, where everything is closed up and not so fresh, at least I don't have any hitchhikers along.

Direct Aid.  Know what products to have on hand in the event of illness.  Take the time now, before  you need them, to prepare a "health kit" containing some of the products mentioned.  That way, should you be visited by any one of the myriad of illnesses that roam around this time of year, at least you are prepared.
