By now, green and eco-friendly clothing should all sound familiar. Some may have a good understanding of what it all means, while to others, the purpose is not so clear.
To simplify things, lets start with the process of producing eco-friendly (also known as eco-fi) fabrics; this involves the recycle of plastic PET bottles. Stripped of their labels and caps, washed, and crushed, then chopped into flake that is melted and extruded to create fiber. The fiber is crimped, cut, drawn and stretched into desired length for strength, then baled.

Many different fabrics are made using environmentally friendly fibers. These fibers include fleece fabrics which are warm, durable, weather resistant, lightweight and comfortable. They are all also very soft to the touch.
Health-wise, by recycling plastic bottles for eco-friendly clothing, we eliminate their presence in the earth's landfills. By doing so, we decrease allergies that flare up due to bad air, and we also decrease toxic gases from polluting the air which can cause damage to the lungs and other unexpected illnesses.
So as you can see, the main purpose of it all has to do primarily with caring for the environment, or even moreso, caring for the air we breathe.
For this reason, you may notice that not all, but many eco-friendly garments are inscribed with words of inspiration such as change, love and peace.

A Lot To Say, a lifestyle brand that celebrates and encourages our voices to be heard in the written word is a good example of what saving the environment by producing eco-friendly clothing is all about. Not only do they aspire to keep the earth free of toxic waste, they aim to inspire everyone to get involved with the process.
The manifesto by which A Lot To Say creates:
If you believe something, say it. If you want something, say it. Because saying it creates new awareness. Awareness sparks new behavior. And new behavior inspires us all to be better. If we speak out, others will act out. To vote. Recycle. Save. To think a little more. To try a little harder. To live more honestly. Thoughtfully. Joyfully. You have A Lot To Say. So never be afraid to say it. Or wear it. Everyday.
