Do your homework: In most cases, homework is given to reinforce what is learned in class. Doing homework as assigned will help you absorb more information. In addition, doing your homework can improve your grade and help the teacher to view you as a cooperative student.
Ask questions: If you don’t understand something, it does you no good at all stay silent. If you are afraid to ask questions in front of the class, write your questions down in your notebook. Then approach the teacher with the questions after class, or email them with the questions if that is possible.
Ask for help: If you are stuck on your homework, or having problems in class, go to your parents or another adult and ask for help. If they can’t help you, they should help you find someone who can. You can also request that an advanced classmate tutor you.
Improve your image: Dress a little neater or cleaner. Stand up a little straighter. Participate a little more in class. Making tiny changes in yourself will help the teachers to see your potential a bit more and result in better grades.
Control your frustration: school can be frustrating. The way you react to these frustrations will reflect on your education. Learn breathing techniques to help you to remain calm in tense and aggravating situations. Yelling at teachers and having fights with other students will do nothing to improve your grades.
