Ever since I began homeschooling my kids, the majority of their gifts from me have been educational.  I have discovered that if a toy or game promotes idleness, then it does little to enrich the child.  I have purchased Leap Frog programs,  laptops, books,  games, and more, and since I began shopping only for educational resources, I have never regretted a gift I have purchased.

Now educational gifts may be a bit more expensive than the cheaper fad toys and stocking stuffers, but I like to think of them as an investment in the future.  This means of course, that my kids get far fewer gifts than they once received.   I have not, been shy however, about informing them of the value of their gifts, so they remain content.

If you are more interested in value this year over volume, you will also want to purchase educational toys for your kids.

In my opinion, the five most stimulating toys you can purchase this year for Christmas are:

Laptop Computer

Lego’s

School House Rock CD Set

Scrabble

Leap Frog Learning Systems

The worst gifts (education wise) are Televisions, and d most video games.

Visit back during the holiday season as I highlight a few new discoveries and old favorites for this year.
