Many parents stop helping kids with homework somewhere between middle school and the 9th grade.  They say that some of the classes are too hard, or they may just not remember the subject matter.  Just because you don’t have that depth or breadth of knowledge, however does not mean you can’t help.  You can help your child with homework by helping them to find online resources.   Here are some free online homework websites you and your student can use.

Hippocampus   uses multimedia course materials to help with homework and studies.

Student Questions.com
promises to help your students find the answers to hard questions. Your child only needs to post their questions, and they get the answers.

Chatterbees   homework help center promises to save you time by giving you all the homework help you need in one place.

The Beehive  gives homework help for all grade levels  and all subjects.  It provides learning games to drill younger students and serves as a portal to tutorials for high school subjects.

This last website is not exactly free, but your school may already have a subscription that your child can use, so be sure to ask the teachers.   It is Brainpop.com.   If you can't get it free, the site has a reasonable yearly subscription fee.  (It's worth it.) This animated site that explains subjects simply and with humor can teach your child what they don’t know, and help you remember what you forgot.
